Frequently Asked Questions
Deluxe Room FAQs
What does the Deluxe Room at Viva Maya look out on?
The Deluxe Room has a private balcony with garden views over the resort's grounds. It is a relaxed spot for morning coffee or an evening unwind. Viva Maya sits beachfront in the gated Playacar complex, and the garden-view category is a calm, green outlook rather than a direct ocean one.
How are the beds arranged and how many people does the Deluxe Room sleep?
The room has 2 Queen Beds and sleeps up to 4 guests in 428 sq. ft. That suits two couples, friends travelling together, or a family of four. Blackout drapes and air conditioning help everyone sleep well.
What is the bathroom like in the Deluxe Room?
Each room has a private bathroom with a shower, free toiletries and a hair dryer. Towels are changed on request, and the room is serviced by daily housekeeping.
What is included in the rate for a Deluxe Room guest?
Viva Maya is all-inclusive. Your stay covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, pool bars, non-motorized water sports, tennis, bicycles, live entertainment and themed parties. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, including guest rooms. Spa services, airport transfers and the in-room safe carry an extra charge.
Is the Deluxe Room a good choice for families?
Yes. The room is family friendly, with two queen beds, a mini-fridge, a 55-inch LED TV with premium channels, and connecting rooms available for larger groups. In-room childcare is offered for a surcharge, and cribs can be requested (policy may vary by room type). Viva Maya has planned activities for all ages, three outdoor pools and a dedicated kids' pool.
Will I need reservations for the restaurants?
Not at the main buffet, La Terraza, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with no reservation needed. The specialty restaurants, such as Miramare (Italian) and Portofino (Mediterranean), require reservations, which can be made through the Viva App. Booking on arrival day is wise for preferred dates.
Is the Deluxe Room suitable for couples looking for some quiet time?
It can be. The room is comfortable for two, and Viva Maya has a dedicated adults-only pool with its own bar, a quiet zone separate from the family areas. It is located near the Necui Spa, where massages and treatments are bought separately from the all-inclusive package.
What are check-in and check-out times, and what do I need to bring?
Check-in starts at 3:00 PM and the front desk is open 24/7, so late arrivals are welcome. Check-out is at 12:00 PM, with late check-out subject to availability and possibly a fee. The person who made the reservation must present a photo ID and a credit card in the same name. The minimum check-in age is 18.
How far is Viva Maya from the airport and from Quinta Avenida?
Cancún International Airport is about 50–65 minutes by road. A private transfer or taxi is door to door, and the resort can arrange a roundtrip shuttle for an extra charge. Playa del Carmen's Quinta Avenida is roughly 25–30 minutes' walk through Playacar or about 4 minutes by car.
Are there any extra charges I should know about for the Deluxe Room?
Plan for a few extras: the in-room safe carries a fee, spa services and airport transfers are paid separately, and a municipal lodging tax of USD 3.30 per room, per night is collected by the property. Cash is not accepted for reservations.
