Frequently Asked Questions

Superior Garden Room FAQs

What does the Superior Garden Room at Viva Maya look out on?
The room faces the resort's landscaped gardens from a private balcony. It is a garden outlook rather than an ocean view, which suits guests who want a calm, green setting and the resort's beachfront, pools and dining close at hand within the grounds.
How are the beds arranged, and how many people does the room sleep?
You can choose 1 King or 2 Queen Beds. The Superior Garden Room is set up to sleep 4 guests within 391 sq. ft., so it works for a couple wanting extra space, or for a family or small group sharing the two-queen layout.
Does the room have a balcony, and how would I use it?
Yes, the room has a private balcony looking over the gardens. It is a handy spot for morning coffee or a quiet moment away from the pool areas. Rooms are reached along exterior corridors, so you step in from the open air.
What is the bathroom like?
The private bathroom has a shower, free toiletries and a hair dryer. Fresh towels and bed sheets are changed on request, and housekeeping visits daily.
Is the Superior Garden Room a good choice for families or couples?
It suits both. Families benefit from the two-queen option, connecting rooms for larger parties, cribs on request (depending on room type) and in-room childcare for a surcharge. The resort has planned activities for all ages, three outdoor pools plus a kids' pool, and couples can retreat to the adults-only pool near Necui Spa.
What is included in the rate for guests in this room?
Your stay is all-inclusive: breakfast, lunch and dinner, a pool bar, non-motorized water sports, tennis, bicycles, live entertainment and themed parties. In the room you also have a 55-inch LED TV with premium channels, free Wi-Fi and a mini-fridge. Spa services at Necui Spa are purchased separately, and the in-room safe carries a fee.
How do dining reservations work at Viva Maya?
The buffet restaurant La Terraza serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with no reservation needed. The specialty restaurants, including Miramare (Italian) and Portofino (Mediterranean), require reservations, which can be made through the Viva App. Booking on arrival day is advised for your preferred dates.
Where is the resort, and how far is it from Quinta Avenida?
Viva Maya is beachfront inside the gated Playacar complex in Playa del Carmen, about 2 miles from the shops and restaurants of Quinta Avenida. That is roughly a 25-30 minute walk or about 4 minutes by car. Cancún International Airport is around 50-65 minutes away by road, and a roundtrip airport shuttle can be arranged for an extra charge.
What should I know before I arrive?
Check-in starts at 3:00 PM and the front desk is open 24 hours; check-out is by 12:00 PM. The person who booked must present a photo ID and a credit card in the same name, and must be at least 18. A municipal lodging tax of USD 3.30 per night is collected by the property. Pets and service animals are not permitted on the property.
